Suitsupply Jort Fall Winter 2015
Jort Kelder is back with his seasonally collaboration with Suitsupply. As always it is a combination of eccentric garments and business suits. Let’s take a look what he is up to this time.
Suitsupply’s collaboration with the Dutch journalist Jort Kelder continues to impress for every new season. Inspiration comes from the man that needs clothing and accessories that can be used by their own, regardless of the situation that stands before him. It is a way of survival, and which is the theme of this fall and winter collection.
The combination between quality, attention to details and pricing are still one of the strongest points for the Jort collection. We have suits and jackets with an full canvas construction and high quality fabrics from the finest Italian mills starting under €700. Here we can also find some insane fabrics such as the super 160’s wool from Vitale Barberis Canonico for those who wants something more limited and luxurious. The choice of fabrics and colors are still bold, but more contemporary compared to the last summer collection. We can still see the more laid back and formal navy combinations for the popular suits, but also the more bolder choices such as a navy and beige double breasted coat with a red windowpane and yellow trousers.
Other news is the new and generous button down collar with just the right amount of roll. We from now on also find ties for the Jort collection, and for this season in pure cashmere. And let’s not forget to mention the boilersuit, a tribute to the legendary officer Winston Churchill that fought during the Second World War. Maybe it is not something for everyone, but it is without any doubt an interesting garment that you are not used see at this level of quality.
Those pleats…that’s pure craftsmanship. – Jort Kelder
